The 9-kilometre section of National Road 45 to be upgraded begins just past the roundabout in Zawada and ends at the connection point with the modernised Jełowa–Bierdzany section.
The length of the section currently being upgraded is approximately 6.6 km.
As part of the project, we will rebuild and strengthen the structure of the existing carriageway – its load capacity will be increased to 11.5 tonnes per axle. The reconstruction will also include three intersections, whose geometry will be corrected due to existing hazardous approaches. Plans also include the construction of a roundabout at the intersection of National Road 45 and the Kolanowice–Węgry county road.
A key element of the project, significantly improving road safety, will be the construction of a grade-separated viaduct over the Opole–Kluczbork railway line. The viaduct will be built along a new alignment of National Road 45. In addition, three bridge structures – over the Mała Panew River, the Factory Canal and the Brynica River – as well as existing culverts will be reconstructed.
Along the nearly 9-kilometre section, existing sidewalks will also be rebuilt. A pedestrian and bicycle path will be constructed, along with additional service roads providing access to adjacent areas.
The scope of works will also include the construction and reconstruction of lighting, drainage, road safety devices and technical infrastructure – including sanitary sewers, a technological duct, and water supply, telecommunications and power networks.
The project is scheduled for implementation in the years 2025–2027.
The investment involves the expansion of national road No. 45 along the section Krapkowice – Rogów Opolski, including the expansion of intersections and segments of cross roads. The contract value is 72.9 million PLN.
