The construction of Stage II of the Ostrów Wielkopolski Bypass is a continuation of Stage I, which was opened to traffic at the end of 2009.

With the completion of Stage II, transit traffic was redirected from the city to the bypass. This resulted in reduced travel time along National Road No. 11 and improved traffic flow on the routes Poznań–Ostrów Wielkopolski–Katowice and Kalisz–Ostrów Wielkopolski–Wrocław.

The contract covered the construction of:

An expressway: dual carriageway over a length of approximately 12.8 km,
One road interchange,
15 engineering structures,
A network of cross roads and access roads,
Drainage and stormwater management systems,
Road lighting installations,
Noise barriers,
Bypass fencing,
Roadside greenery planting.
